The Boston Celtics will open the ’19-‘20 season playing the New York Knicks, in MSG on October 26th.  Celtics and Knicks fans know about the historic rivalry between the two clubs.  Fan favorite for the C’s last season, Marcus Morris Sr. is now playing for the rivaled franchise.  The season opener can’t come soon enough!

Marcus Morris and the Knicks, will be hosting the Boston Celtics and Kemba Walker, for the ’19-’20 season opener in MSG.  Morris quickly became a fan favorite by truly being himself and not letting his team get treated like a doormat.

Mook made quite the splash in free agency this summer.  Morris agreed to join the San Antonio Spurs on a reported two-year contract.  After consideration, the veteran power forward decided to accept a contract from the Knicks, instead.

Mook had made it clear to the C’s that he wanted to return to Boston.  It was obvious he felt comfortable playing in Boston, as is the case for most seasoned veterans.  Morris was able to excel here in Boston, producing two of his best seasons while being a Celtic.

Becoming a fan favorite for Celtics Nation is somewhat hard to accomplish.  Given the history behind the Celtics, it is hard to replace or duplicate similar relationships with the fans and the organization.  Morris will be remembered for many things in Boston, but none more than his bulldog type attitude.

I’ll never forget the minor altercation Morris had, during game 2 of the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals.  After a hard drive to the hoop, Morris and Tristan Thompson fell over each other.  That resulted in Morris SCREAMING in the face of Thompson.

Mook Morris also was a big brother on the court with the Celtics.  He would go to battle for any one of his teammates.  As a former athlete, knowing you have a teammate like that who has your back, makes you play to your full potential.

As Celtics fans wanted Marcus Morris to remain with the Celtics for another year, you can’t say the end wasn’t near.  Morris will be required to be a leader, as he is one of the only veterans on the Knicks roster.

I think I can speak for all when I say that Marcus Morris will definitely be heard if he has something to say.
